London Film and Comic Con 2012

Well, the biggest convention event for us has happened this year, and we are pleased to announce that we have done fabulously!

This marks the third year that HAUK has had an official presence at LFCC, and it has turned out to be an even better appearance for us in terms of group awareness and charity collection than ever before, having raised more than we ever had in any past years of LFCC (and almost beating what we collected last year in only one day!).

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our members who took time out of the weekend to help us on the table, and who helped by walking around the convention with a tin, collecting donations for the public, as well as thanking the people at LFCC for providing a booth for us to work out of, and the general public who donated so graciously towards the charities that we support.

We also had the chance to meet the ever gracious Christopher Judge, better known as Teal’c from Stargate SG1, he was kind enough to come over to the booth and take some photos with our members.
So we would like to extend a massive thanks to him !

Website Revamp

Well, as I’m sure you can all see, the HA:UK website has gone through a major overhaul!

With the revitalisation of the council, we thought it best to revitalise the face of HA:UK at the same time, introducing not only the brand new website, but also our new logo, designed by none other than your council member, Ryan Jenkyns, so, well done to Ryan for giving us a lovely new, more modern looking logo!

The website is just the first in a slew of upcoming changes that we’re sure you will all be excited to hear about, though for now, it’s lips-zipped and all hush hush, but we promise, we’ll have news for you soon!

Thought Bubble 2011

Convention season is over for the UK for 2011, and HAUK rounded out the year by appearing at Thought Bubble in Leeds, with our table and Photo Booth.

Suspiria 2012

The organisers of Suspiria 2012 have invited us to be guests at their fantastic horror, scifi and fantasy convention, September 28-29 2012. A good number of our members are big horror movie fans, and in the spirit of the con, we’ll be transforming into a horde of brain-feasting zombie superheroes! For a small charitable donation, you’ll be able to have a professionally taken photo with the group, as they tear your head apart and feast on the delicious goo inside.

Red Sun’s One Year Anniversary Event

That’s right, Red Sun Comics of Chelmsford, Essex, has invited us back yet again! We’ll be appearing as a variety of Marvel characters on Saturday October 8th in partnership with the wonderful folks at Red Sun to help celebrate their 1st birthday, and raise some money for Make-A-Wish in the process.

One of our FAVOURITE comic book stores has invited us back again for another event, this time to coincide with the relaunch of DC Comics’ universe of characters. Characters like Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman and Flash have been reimagined and taken back to their roots, and Heroes Alliance UK will be there the day it happens. So come along, pick up the new #1 issues, and meet artists and superheroes!

Nor-Con – Norwich Sci-Fi Convention

Heroes Alliance UK have been invited to be official guests at Nor-Con, a Norwich-based scifi, TV, film, fantasy and comic book convention hosted at The Univesity of East Anglia by theNorwich Scifi Club. And the best part is ALL the profits from the con are donated to charity! This is the kinda convention that has the message of Heroes Alliance UK at heart, and we are all so excited to attend.
